Beginning the week of October 12, 2026, the Town of Carthage will implement mandatory water restrictions while scheduled maintenance is performed at the Town's water treatment plant. Mandatory water restrictions are expected to remain in effect through December 6, 2026.
Ongoing downtown construction is resulting in temporary road closures, detours, and traffic delays around Carthage. Motorists should use caution, follow posted detour signs, and allow additional travel time when traveling through downtown Carthage.

Did you know the Moore County Veteran's Memorial is right here in Carthage? It was opened on November 11th, 2006 to honor all veterans from Moore County who were killed in action and their families. On the day of the opening it is estimated that 1,000 residents gathered at the site to celebrate the opening.
