Back in April 2024, Robbins Mayor, Cameron Dockery challenged Carthage Mayor, Jimmy Chalflinch to a softball game. This game was a long time in the making and Mayor (Coach) Chalflinch gleefully accepted the challenge on behalf of the Town of Carthage Board of Commissioners and Staff.
The two teams will be playing for bragging rights, a championship trophy, and most importantly, for donations to benefit the Ellie Jean Foundation and assist the Town of Robbins complete their ADA compliant park.
The Ellie Jean Project is dedicated to providing a safe and fun place for all children, regardless of physical ability, to play and grow with their peers.
The two Town's will play one 7-inning game of softball and will provide concessions for spectators with donations being taken as a second form of competition. The Town that collects the most donations will be recognized along with the winners of the softball challenge!
Come on out and support your Team! We all know Team Carthage will win... But, it's all for a good cause, and we'll try not to beat them too badly!
