Town of Carthage Issues Update on CodeRED Cybersecurity Incident
Published on December 01, 2025
The Town of Carthage is notifying residents about a recent cybersecurity incident involving CodeRED, our third-party emergency alert system. OnSolve, the provider of CodeRED, reported that its platform was targeted by a cybercriminal group, which may have compromised user data.
Town systems and services were not affected—this incident is isolated to CodeRED.
The affected data may include names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and passwords used to create CodeRED accounts. No financial information was involved. If you used the same password for CodeRED and other accounts, please change those passwords immediately.
The Town has decommissioned its CodeRED account and is working with OnSolve to migrate to a new, secure platform.
✅ Action Required: Residents should re-enroll in the new CodeRED system to ensure they continue receiving emergency alerts.
