Beginning the week of October 12, 2026, the Town of Carthage will implement mandatory water restrictions while scheduled maintenance is performed at the Town's water treatment plant. Mandatory water restrictions are expected to remain in effect through December 6, 2026.
Ongoing downtown construction is resulting in temporary road closures, detours, and traffic delays around Carthage. Motorists should use caution, follow posted detour signs, and allow additional travel time when traveling through downtown Carthage.

Due to sufficient rainfall to refill our water reserves, the Town has issued a Declaration of Termination of all water restrictions. Citizens are encouraged to remain diligent in helping us maintain a healthy water supply by checking for leaks, making sure faucets are turned off completely, and limiting water use whenever possible.
