On Monday, September 14, 2026, the Town of Carthage will install a temporary water line in the Summitt Street area. This work is necessary to reroute the water main while repairs are completed near the roadway washout.
Water service in the affected area is expected to be temporarily interrupted beginning at approximately 12:00 pm. The outage is anticipated to last approximately four hours.
Following installation, the temporary water line may remain in service for up to 12 weeks while construction is completed. Once the work is finished, the water system will be returned to permanent service.
