Mayor Jimmy Chalflinch is the former head of custodial services for Thomasville City Schools. A native of Robbins, the Mayor has lived in Moore County for most of his life. He is a graduate of Union Pines High School and has coached baseball, softball, and boys' and girls' basketball for well over 45 years with the Moore County Parks and Recreation Department.
Mayor Chalflinch served as a Commissioner on the Board from 2013 until he won the race to serve the Town as Mayor in 2019. He recently won reelection in November of 2025 and his term expires December 31, 2027.

Commissioner Al Barber has been on the board since 2019. Commissioner Al Barber is a Moore County native, having grown up just outside of Aberdeen. After spending two decades serving in the Air Force, he and his wife settled in Carthage where he also continues to serve his community as a board certified Physician's Assistant. Commissioner Barber has been on the Board of Commissioners since his initial election and after his reelection in November 2023, he will serve until his term expires on December 31, 2027.

Commissioner Dan Bonillo is a man that loves to be of service to others. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on his 18th birthday and after serving four years as a Marine, he enlisted in the US Army. Mr. Bonillo retired from the U.S. Army Special Forces in 2020 after serving more than 20 years of active duty service, completing multiple combat deployments between Iraq and Afghanistan. Commissioner Bonillo is a decorated soldier with multiple awards, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve.
Prior to retirement, Dan started serving his local community by volunteering with the Carthage Fire and Rescue Department, and in 2019, he was elected to serve as a Carthage Town Commissioner. Commissioner Bonillo was reelected to serve another term in November of 2023. His term expires on December 31, 2027.

Commissioner Anton Sadovnikov was born in Moscow. When he was 10, his family relocated to Boston. Currently attending law school, and a 10-year resident of Carthage, Commissioner Sadovnikov served his country, as has since retired from the U.S. Army Special Forces as a senior noncommissioned officer and combat veteran. He joined the Board of Commissioners in 2021.
Commissioner Sadovnikov was elected to the Carthage Board of Commissioners in in 2021. Having been re-elected on November 4, 2025. He will continue his service on the council with his current term expiring on December 31, 2029.

Commissioner Brent Tanner is a local attorney hailing from Autryville in Cumberland County, which is home to fewer than 200 people. Mr. Tanner lived in Cary from 2008 through mid-May 2021 where he and his family moved to Carthage. Commissioner Tanner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 and earned his Juris Doctor from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University in 2007. Brent was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in August of 2007. Since his admission to the Bar, Mr. Tanner has focused his practice on family law.
Commissioner Tanner was first elected to the Carthage Board of Commissioners in November 2021, shortly after arriving in Carthage with his family. He was reelected by the citizens in November 2025 and his current term expires on December 31, 2029.
