The Town of Carthage has issued a Water Shortage Alert and is asking all customers to conserve water. Effective Monday, July 6th, all Class 3 (Non-Essential) Water Uses are prohibited under the Town's Water Shortage Conservation Ordinance. This includes watering lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, parks, and other recreational areas, as well as ornamental ponds and similar features.

In response to forecasted extreme temperatures, Moore County will open a temporary Cooling Station to provide residents with a safe place to cool down during the hottest part of the day.The Cooling Station will be located at the Moore County Sports Complex, 155 Hillcrest Park Lane, Carthage, NC, and will be open Thursday, July 2, through Monday, July 6, from 1:00 - 6:00 pm daily.
