The Town of Carthage will hold multiple Public Hearings on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the McDonald Building located at 207 McReynolds Street to discuss the following topics:

The Board will consider he adoption of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 balanced budget.

The Board will consider a request for a proposed amendment to the General Ordinance and Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to expand the number of in-town representatives serving on the Planning Board. The amendment is being considered to accommodate strong candidate interest and prepare for potential changes to ETJ (extraterritorial jurisdiction) authority at the state level.

The Board will continue to review the new Unified Development Ordinance for consideration and adoption. This second section will cover the topics of Zoning Regulations, Uses and Conditions, Nonconformities, Development Standards, Environmental Standards, Subdivision Standards, and Commercial Standards.
