The 14,000 square ft. Carthage Volunteer Fire Department is located at 4396 Hwy. 15/501 in Carthage. The department is staffed with a paid Fire Chief, and 25 volunteers. They serve an area of 113 square miles and a population of approximately 4600 people.
Apparatus - The Carthage Volunteer Fire Department very capably provides fire protection to the Town of Carthage and Carthage Fire District with the following apparatus:

Membership - If you are a hard working, dedicated individual who is willing to attend monthly department training and work toward becoming a certified North Carolina Firefighter, then the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department is for you!
Membership Requirements:
1) All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
2) All applicants must live within the Carthage Fire District
To be considered for membership, please stop by the station between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, to pick up an application.
