EFFECTIVE MARCH 30, 2020 AT 5:00 PM
The Town of Carthage will be adjusting our practices to comply with the newest Order from the Governor of North Carolina.
Effective after 5:00pm on Monday, all playgrounds/athletic fields and Town facilities should not be used. The bathrooms will be locked in these areas. Please continue to use walking areas as needed. While we want to encourage maintaining your health and fitness, it is not healthy to congregate for sports.
In addition, the Town Administration building is closed to the public. If you need to make a payment, please call the office or drop your payment in the drop box. If you must speak with staff in person, you must make an appointment in advance. We are also working to install a communication system on the outside of the building, so that the public can still ask questions, etc. An announcement will be made once that has been installed.
In the meantime, please make your health and safety your biggest priority. If you have questions about the newest Order from the State, please call 2-1-1 OR (888) 892-1162. There may be a waiting time, but that is the best source for questions about what businesses or positions are considered essential.
